The District of Squamish Council adopted the Five-Year Financial Plan for 2022 to 2026 on December 21, 2021.
The plan includes a property tax revenue requirement increase of 3.76% over 2021 (after growth is factored in) to fund projects and services required to meet the growth pressures, facility renewal and demand for services that Squamish currently faces.
To set property tax rates, Council considers The BC Assessment property assessment value notices and the percent of non-market change (growth), as that information becomes available.
Check out our interactive tool that allows you to explore total expenditures in each of the District's budget areas.
The District invited community feedback on the proposed 2022-26 Financial Plan from October 1 - November 23, 2021. Click here to view the comments from the community and a summary of the engagement.
In addition to in-person engagement opportunities, the District’s online engagement platform, Let’s Talk Squamish, was used to collect feedback online. You can view the engagement project page here: Let’sTalkSquamish.ca/budget-2022
