Valleycliffe Childcare Centre
The District of Squamish has received $2,526,474 from the B.C. ChildCareBC New Spaces Fund to build and co-locate a municipally-owned childcare facility at Valleycliffe Elementary School in Squamish in partnership with School District 48 and Sea to Sky Community Services Society.
Design development continued through year-end 2023. Construction is set to begin Winter 2024 following permitting and approvals.
Timeframe: Winter through Fall 2024. Initial site preparation will begin in late March.
Impacts:
- During construction, Hemlock Avenue access to school grounds will be re-routed via Birch Drive to Westway Avenue (school entrance)
- Construction staging area within John Hunter Park (public access to parking lot will be intermittently closed for construction vehicles)
- For safety, the Hemlock Avenue access to the school will be closed during construction.
- The construction trailer and contractor parking will use the municipal John Hunter parking lot.
